Our standard white vinyl stickers are made to stay on, but they peel off cleanly without leaving residue on most surfaces when you're done with them. High-Tack Stickers are made to stay put and are harder to remove. Every sticker we print uses an adhesive made to stay, so for something you can take down and put back up, choose Window Cling, which has no adhesive at all.
The three options
| Product | Holds by | Coming off |
|---|---|---|
| Standard white vinyl | An adhesive made to stay | Peels off cleanly on most surfaces |
| High-Tack | A much stronger adhesive | Harder, and can leave residue |
| Window Cling | Static, with no adhesive | Lifts off and goes back up again |
Why "peels cleanly" has limits
- Age and sun. After years outdoors, vinyl gets less flexible and the adhesive holds harder, so an old sticker takes more warmth and patience. How to remove a sticker cleanly has the method.
- The surface. On a painted wall, removal can lift the paint. See can I put stickers on a painted wall?
- How you pull. A sticker pulled slowly, folded back almost flat against itself, comes off cleanest.
Can I reposition one?
Not really. Right after you lay a sticker down, you can sometimes lift a corner and lay it again gently. But every lift risks stretching the vinyl and picking up dust, and the adhesive builds strength from the moment it touches.
Place it right the first time: hold it over the spot, tack down one edge, then smooth across from that edge. How to apply a sticker so it stays on walks through it.
If you need something temporary
For glass and mirrors you'll change often, Window Cling holds by static, so it can come down and go back up as often as you like. Window Cling: no adhesive at all covers what it's good at.
