You need High-Tack when standard vinyl won't grip what you're sticking it to: rough or textured surfaces, powder coating, and low-energy plastics. It's the same print and laminate as our standard white vinyl with a much stronger adhesive, so it holds where standard vinyl lifts. The trade-off is that it's harder to get off again.

Surfaces that call for it

  • Textured and rough surfaces. Adhesive can only grip where it touches, and on a texture it only touches the high points.
  • Powder-coated metal, which is textured: many water bottles and tumblers, equipment cabinets, railings, and tool boxes.
  • Low-energy plastics. Polypropylene and polyethylene (recycling codes 5, 2, and 4) resist most adhesives, and they turn up in tubs, coolers, bins, and some cases. See why don't stickers stick to some plastics?
  • Any surface where standard stickers have already lifted at the corners.

What it won't fix

High-Tack holds harder, but it can't make a bad surface good.

  • Dirty, greasy, dusty, wet, or cold surfaces defeat any adhesive. Clean with isopropyl alcohol, let it dry, and apply at room temperature. How to apply a sticker so it stays on has the steps.
  • Silicone and non-stick coatings resist almost every adhesive, High-Tack included.
  • Some surfaces, like rough brick or concrete, are too uneven for any sticker.

The trade-off

High-Tack is made to stay. It's harder to remove than standard vinyl and can leave residue, so don't put it on anything you'll want pristine later, like a laptop you plan to sell or a painted wall. If you do need it off, how to remove a sticker cleanly helps.

Ordering it

  • High-Tack Stickers start at 25 of a design. As on white vinyl, you can see an optional Live Sticker Proof before you order: upload one design, then press "Draw It Now" in the "See Instant Sticker Proof" box.
  • Trade templates on High-Tack Vinyl start at 100.
  • Not sure you need it? Order a small run and test it on the real surface first. Give it 24 hours before you judge it, because adhesive builds most of its strength over the first day or two.
