School equipment gets issued, returned, reissued, and eventually sold. An asset tag has to last through that and then come off cleanly.
A unique number on every tag
Each tag carries the same design with its own asset number or barcode, printed in one run. Adding numbering, QR codes, or barcodes is an artwork change. We can help, so reach out for a quote.
For plain sequential numbers, tell us the first number, and we count up from it for the quantity you order. Anything else, such as existing asset numbers, comes as a spreadsheet, one row per tag.
Making the barcodes readable
A scanner needs clear space on each side of a barcode. A school crest crowded against the code is a common reason it won't read, and you find out at inventory time.

Coming off cleanly
Our standard white vinyl has a protective laminate and peels off cleanly without residue. That suits equipment that gets reissued or sold, and it's usually the right choice.
If a tag needs to resist removal instead, High-Tack Stickers hold much harder than standard vinyl. They're harder to remove and can leave residue. Decide which you need before you order, because clean removal and resisting removal pull in opposite directions.
Where to put them
Laptop lids and tablet backs take standard vinyl well once they're wiped clean. Rubberized and textured cases are where standard adhesive struggles. High-Tack is the fix there, though it's harder to remove.
Avoid spots that get rubbed all the time. The underside of a laptop wears faster than the lid, because it slides across desks.
How long they last
UV light from the sun is what fades print, and indoors there's far less of it. Our stickers last 3 to 5 years outdoors before the print starts to fade, and an asset tag kept indoors lasts considerably longer.
